What is Health Care Navigation for the Uninsured?
In this program, our counselors:
- provide services to children and adults in our area who have no health insurance.
- help callers find affordable insurance or locate a physician or caregiver in their area.
- advocate on behalf of the patient with hospital or social services personnel, and even secure needed medical supplies and ways to help with medications.
- are often the connection to life-saving health care for these folks.
- enrolled over 950 adults and children on health insurance in 2008 who otherwise may still be uninsured!
This critical program is not funded by one of our state contracts (nor do we charge our clients for any of our services); our agency is responsible for raising the funds through grant writing and private donations.
Please consider any size donation you are able. All of it will go directly to Health Assist Tennessee’s program Health Care Navigation for the Uninsured.
